How it works?

Once every couple of months, we release a new batch of baby blankets. It’s available for a limited time for pre-order on our website.

For the newest Batch no. 2 “The Moments Between Moments” we’re offering a 15% discount if you pre-order.

Then we go into full production mode, where our talented partners make each and every ordered piece in a small sewing studio in Poland. You’re getting updates on the process, so you can follow the blanket’s unique story before it’s delivered to you.

For batch no. 2 shipments will be rolling out from mid to late April.

Read on to check how we do things our way.

Sustainable sourcing& production

When the idea for a baby blankets first sparked – I set out on a mission to source only eco-friendly and top-notch materials. I wanted to make sure  all the people throughout the supply chain are getting a respectful living wage.

We ensure the materials we source are created responsibly. The blanket’s outer layer is made from organic cotton with certifications. Ensuring that it is free from harmful chemicals and pesticides. The inside padding is made in Italy from Global Recycling Standard-certified polyester.

The blankets are sewn in a local studio in Poland.

Price Transparency

We believe in transparency and educating our customers on the true cost of production. So you can feel good knowing that your purchase is supporting fair wages and environmentally-friendly practices.

You see, we don’t cut corners when it comes to sourcing materials and working with ethical suppliers. That means our blankets may cost a bit more than what you’d find at a fast fashion store. But we’re cool with that. We know the true cost of production doesn’t just include the price of thread and fabric.  It also takes into account the well-being of the people who make the product and the impact on the environment.

So, what goes into the price tag of our baby blankets?

  • Materials: Everything from the fabric to the padding and labels.
  • Labour: What we pay our sewing studio for each blanket, including pattern-making and prototyping.
  • Logistics: Covers all things transport, from shipping materials to the studio to any additional freight costs.
  • Overhead and Markup: The essential expenses for running our business, which aren’t directly tied to manufacturing. This includes administrative costs, investments in future batches, and business development. It also covers the cost of photoshoots and the services of IT, legal, design, and accounting professionals.
  • Online Expenses: From keeping our webshop running smoothly to online marketing and processing your payments securely—we aim to efficiently manage these costs.
  • Tax: duuuh, I’m paying taxes accordingly to Polish law.

By understanding these components, you can appreciate the value and ethics behind every blanket you purchase from us. It’s not just a blanket; it’s a commitment to quality, fairness, and sustainability.

Limited & Made-to-order

The fashion* industry’s overproduction problem is no secret. And we think it’s high time to shake things up.

That’s why we want to keep things small and sustainable. We’re not into mass production because, frankly – this planet does not need a million of identical baby blankets.

Instead, we keep things limited edition, unique creations that are made with love and to last. Plus, with our made-to-order model, we only make what you actually want, so there’s no need for a big old stockroom.

NO STOCK. NO WASTE. NO PROBLEM.

* yes, we consider our blankets “fashion” 😉

Planned & responsible shopping

Part of building a responsible business is to promote responsible consumer behaviour. We want you to buy only the things you really need and will enjoy. Our blankets are available to buy only couple times a year, so you’ll have plenty of time to decide whether you really like and need it.

We take you behind the scenes of the production, so you fall in love with the item before it’s even made. And we hope that by doing this, you will take proper care and cherish pieces made by Cheerful Bambino.
